Glam is a style that is all about luxury, Hollywood glamour, and excess. It is a style that was popular in the 1940s and 1950s, and it has made a comeback in recent years. Glam furniture is usually very formal and often has strong lines and tailored upholstery. The colors are usually very rich, such as gold, brass, black and silver, and the materials are often expensive, such as silk, velvet, and leather. Glam style is not for the faint of heart - it is bold and dramatic. Light fixtures and lamps offer chunks of crystal and nods to Art Deco era. Formal spaces are designed with formal entertaining in mind- brass bar carts and crystal decanters, tufted velvet sofa and large solid crystal lamps and sculptures accent the rooms. RH has done a nice job over the past several years reintroducing this style and bringing back the formal vintage feel of this era. Fortunately the chunky crystal ashtrays didn;t make the cut this time.
